Non-Executive Trustee 

Joe provides leadership to the Board, ensuring strong governance that supports our strategic priorities. He brings extensive experience in leadership, governance and risk management, alongside a deep understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable people and the organisations that support them.

A solicitor and partner for more than thirty years, Joe worked in national and international law firms specialising in healthcare and insurance law. His leadership roles included building and managing teams, establishing a Dublin office supporting the State Claims Agency, and advising senior leaders of major insurers on claims and risk exposure.

Throughout his career, he has advised NHS Trust boards on vulnerability, mental health, major incidents and effective clinical governance, and has supported global insurers with high value injury claims and strategic advice.

Joe was drawn to the SIG trustee role after working as one of our legal advisers, where he was inspired by the dedication of our staff and the impact of their work helping people reintegrate into society.
