Celebrating 10 Years with Ravinder at SIG

As part of our 10th anniversary celebrations, we’re thrilled to spotlight Ravinder Sihra, Mental Health Community Engagement Coordinator at Luton Synergy.

Ravinder Sihra, has been an integral part of the SIG family for over a decade, leaving an indelible mark on the community and her colleagues.

What made you apply for your first job at SIG?
“I was actually TUPE’d into SIG Penrose when Penrose won the floating support contract in Luton.”

Do you remember your first day?
“I returned from maternity leave just a month after SIG started providing housing-related floating support in Luton. It was a mix of excitement and nerves, as we brought together employees from various agencies to create this large-scale service.”

How has your job evolved over the years?
“I started with the housing-related floating support service and later joined the Mental Health Floating Support Team. Last year, I was promoted to my current role as Community Engagement Coordinator in the CMHT blended team. It’s been a journey of growth—learning new skills and taking on greater responsibilities.”

What’s been your biggest achievement?
“Supporting some of the most vulnerable people with mental health challenges has been incredibly rewarding. The success stories of clients moving on from temporary supported accommodations are truly inspiring.”

What’s your favourite part of the job?
“The unparalleled interventions and support we provide to clients, as well as the opportunity to continuously grow and learn in my current role.”

What’s your favourite memory from the last 10 years?
“The incredible team at SIG Penrose in Luton! The camaraderie and support from my colleagues—past and present—have been a highlight of my career.

What are your hopes for SIG in the next 10 years?
“I’d love to see SIG continue to grow while staying competitive with support staff salaries. Attracting and retaining experienced professionals is key to sustaining our impact.”

“Tap into the incredible support network within SIG. The team in Luton is always there to guide you. Embrace the valuable training opportunities—they’ll make all the difference!”
