Peer Mentors Needed:
If you’ve said yes to all of the above, there are people going through a similar experience that need your help in their recovery. You will be fully trained and supported by our Peer Outreach Coordinator throughout your time with the project.
If you would like more information, please call Samantha Gibbs on 07808 321750 or email samantha.gibbs@socialinterestgroup.org.uk
Please note that this is a volunteer opportunity. The project will cover all expenses, including lunches, and you will be expected to offer 1-5 hours per week.
“When I decided that I would like to find out about recovery roles, many charities and organisations came up on my search engine.
It was not only Social Interest Group’s ethos that struck a chord with me, but the website was inviting and easy for me to navigate. I sent an email to People and Culture to say that I was interested in recovery work but didn’t really know what to do about it! I was contacted swiftly and met with kindness and respect.
When I applied to be a volunteer, I also liaised with someone at People and Culture and had a video call too. I was able to ask questions as the video caller was very patient and welcoming. This meant that before I started my volunteering, I already felt valued by Social Interest Group.”
