SIG Celebrates 10 Years
A Decade of Impact and Growth at Social Interest Group
Read moreAs we move into 2025, I’m incredibly proud of our teams’ commitment to driving meaningful change across social care, mental health, and the criminal justice system. This edition highlights how we’re evolving, challenging the status quo, and dedicating ourselves to ensuring that our services meet the needs of those we support.
We explore the potential of Integrated Community Rehabilitation Services in bridging the gap between hospital discharge and independent living. We present a compelling model to commissioners that combines clinical expertise with intensive community support. In addition, we shine a light on Safe Ground, which has dedicated 30 years to delivering creative, therapeutic interventions to people within the criminal justice system. A personal account from one of our team members highlights the profound impact of working in criminal justice services, illustrating the transformative essence of our services.
We examine the role of harm reduction as a powerful rehabilitation approach for individuals resistant to traditional methods. Our feature on Psychologically Informed Environments at SIG explains our commitment to integrating trauma-informed and person-centred care across everything we do. Inclusion remains at the heart of our mission, and this month’s staff spotlight on our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Programme Manager outlines our ongoing initiatives to build a more diverse and equitable organisation.
Lastly, we take a moment to celebrate our achievements as an organisation and as individuals. Numerous services have received prestigious awards, including well-deserved recognition for three SIG Penrose Services at the Luton’s Best Awards. Moreover, I am immensely honoured to have been awarded an MBE for my contributions to social care. This recognition is a testament to the tireless efforts of our devoted staff, partners, and the people we serve.
I invite you to explore the insights and innovations shared in this issue. Your collaboration and support enable us to shape services that effect meaningful, lasting change.
