Pathways To Independence – Medway Ex-Offender Projects
Rochester, Kent

Service description

Aimed at those who are homeless, in unsuitable accommodation or at immediate risk of homelessness and who also have a history of offending i.e. they must have been to prison or are currently under Probation (CRC or NPS) or Visor. Referrals must have a housing related support need. Referrals come from the Medway Council Locata Supported Accommodation system. To access this, please either make a Homeless Application at Medway Council’s Kingsley House in Gillingham and request to be placed on the Supported Housing List, or call Kingsley House on 01634 333600.

Medium to High Need and Medium to High Risk Referrals

A five-bedroomed house in the centre of Rochester, providing individual rooms and a shared kitchen, sitting room and two bathrooms. The project is visited 3 or 4 days per week by Support Coaches. There is night concierge that move across Medway Services on a rota each night 365 days per year.

Low to Medium Need and Low to High Risk Referrals

Two, 3-bedroomed houses in Rochester. Each resident has their own bedroom with shared use of the sitting room, kitchen, bathroom, and garden. The Support Coach is based locally and visits twice weekly, or more often depending on residents’ needs. People who access this service generally have either stepped down from our higher need accommodation or were assessed as lower support need at referral.

Two, 2-bedroom flats in Rochester, where residents have their own bedroom and share a lounge, kitchen, and bathroom. The Support Coach usually visits once or twice per week. People who access this service generally have either stepped down from our higher need accommodation or were assessed as lower support need at referral. Project Managers are based off-site but visit weekly, or more often according to residents’ needs.
