Meet Our 2026 London Marathon Runners

We are thrilled to introduce the three incredible people running the TCS London Marathon on 26th April 2026 for SIG Penrose Roots and SIG Pathways to Independence.

Dan Higgs, SIG Penrose Roots Runner

Dan is a sports coach who has a personal connection to Roots through his father-in-law, who works for the service. Dan has already completed the Milton Keynes Marathon in 2025 for Cancer Research and is taking on London as his next challenge.

When he’s not running with his club, Stomp & Chomp at Willen Lake, you’ll find him playing football three times a week. Dan will also be fundraising through a charity football match and disco bingo – watch this space! You can also track his training progress on his fundraising page, where he’s linked his Strava account so you can follow his runs.

Dan has even set up a TikTok account to share updates on his progress! higgsyruns (@higgsyruns)

Abdul Quddus, SIG Penrose Roots Runner

Abdul is a Foodhall Trading Manager at Asda and has dreamed of running the London Marathon since growing up in the capital. Abdul moved to Luton five years ago and got into running after the move. He has already completed the Shakespeare Marathon in 2025 and multiple half marathons, including the Great North Run.

Abdul runs three times a week with the Revolution Running Group, and previously raised up to £2,000 for charities, including food banks and international causes. Asda Luton will also be supporting Abdul’s fundraising journey for Roots.

Nadia Siamer, SIG Pathways Runner

Nadia is a passionate runner and proud mum of two who loves taking on challenges for meaningful causes. She has completed two World Marathon Majors (Berlin and Chicago) and recently ran the Great North Run for Rainbow Children’s Charity.

Running is more than fitness for Nadia; it keeps her strong, focused, and balanced as a busy parent. Now, she’s taking on her dream challenge: the London Marathon, in support of SIG Pathways. “As a mother, I’m deeply moved by the idea of creating safer, more stable futures,” Nadia says.

To reach her fundraising goal, Nadia will rally support from friends, family, and colleagues, with her employer, NVIDIA, matching every pound raised for Pathways. For Nadia, this race is about resilience, hope, and making a real difference.

Meet Iain Griffith, SIG Pathways Runner

Iain’s running journey began unexpectedly in 2015 during a work trip, when he set himself a simple challenge: run 1.5 miles without stopping—from his hotel to Dunfermline FC. What started as a small personal test soon became the spark that ignited a passion for long‑distance running.

In 2017, Iain entered his first official race, the Liverpool Spring 10K, and that same year met his wife, Michelle. Since then, the pair have travelled widely, collecting marathon medals and unforgettable memories together.

The 2026 London Marathon will be a huge milestone for Iain. Crossing the finish line will complete his sixth World Marathon Major, earning him the prestigious Six Star Finisher medal—an achievement he once thought impossible during those early, freezing training runs in Scotland. And if that wasn’t impressive enough, he’s tackling two marathons in just two weeks: first the Boston UK Marathon, followed by London — all to raise funds for SIG Pathways.

If you know me, you’ll know I’m not a natural marathon runner, but I’ve gained so much from pushing myself each time. London will be my sixth and final World Marathon Major, and I want to use this milestone to raise as much as possible for a good cause.” — Iain

All our runners are aiming to raise £2,000 each for Roots and Pathways, to support participants and residents in Kent and Luton/Beds. Please consider supporting Dan, Abdul, Nadia and Iain, by donating to their fundraising pages or by sharing their stories with your networks.

We will follow their journeys over the coming months and celebrate with them at the marathon in April.

Join us at the SIG Cheer Point!

On Sunday, 26th April, we’re coming together to create an incredible cheer point along the London Marathon route to celebrate and support our amazing Penrose and Pathways runners. These runners have trained hard and fundraised tirelessly, and now it’s our turn to make them feel like champions!

This is your chance to be part of one of the most iconic sporting events in the world. Let’s grow our team, amplify our presence, and create an unforgettable atmosphere that lifts every runner as they pass.

Whether you can spare a few hours or the whole day, your attendance will make a huge difference. Travel expenses can be claimed; residents, participants, staff, friends and family are all welcome. Let’s make this a SIG celebration!
