The Solace Centre is an ‘out-of-hours’ service running all year round. It is open weekday evenings and all afternoon at the weekends for members. During this time, we offer the following activities:

  • Activities to support members in boosting and maintaining well-being, including art groups, mindfulness colouring, cooking, silent disco, BBQs and other social events.
  • Daily peer support network for people feeling isolated.
  • Outdoor activities, including gardening and vegetable growing in our allotment space.
  • Hands-on support to help members and visitors tackle any difficulties they may face to make a positive difference to their lives.

Support Solace this Christmas

This Christmas, we are raising funds for The Solace Centre to transform a meeting room into a private and peaceful space to provide over 100 members with the opportunity to meet with the Solace Centre team to receive 1:1 support with their mental health and other personal challenges that they may be facing.

We need to install storage cupboards in the Centre to turn the meeting room into a permanent usable space.

Our fundraising target is £1,500, which will pay for the storage cupboards and installation. If you can give this Christmas to help reach our target, it will go a long way in supporting people with mental ill health in the community to make their day-to-day that little bit easier.

Loneliness is difficult for mental health. Solace Centre provides a safe, welcoming space where people with mental health needs can meet in a relaxed, accepting environment to socialise and build friendships.

Solace has operated for almost 30 years and is the only daily out-of-hours mental health resource centre available to people living in West Ealing.

Everyone involved in Solace respects each other regardless of their background and differences, which is why our members created their motto, “Together accepting difference.”

Solace Centre is open to all; however, those who visit us are referred by their GP and affected by the following:

  • Learning Disability
  • Mental ill-health
  • Loneliness
  • Social isolation

Benefits to the community

  • As a recovery pathway for people with mental health needs, Solace regularly receives referrals from NHS Mental Health Teams, GPs (social prescribing), The Probation Service, and voluntary sector organisations.
  • Unique out-of-hours Mental Health Resource Centre in Ealing, providing a vital service to the community.
  • Solace’s services help keep the community well by reducing mental health relapse, crisis support and hospital admissions.
