SIG Penrose provides resettlement support for people in prison, through the gates and in the community.
Our main focus is helping to reduce reoffending and ensuring recidivism rates are kept low by providing behavioural programmes, support to address the underlying cause of offending behaviour and help to obtain employment and accommodation and reintegrate into families and local communities.
Last year we supported over 9,000 people in prison and the community.
As a partner and subcontractor of London CRC, our community team delivers end-to-end offender management for men subject to custodial orders. Based in every London borough, we support people from point of sentence, through the gate and on to their community licence; providing supervision and resettlement support to promote desistance from crime. 86% of our service users rated their experience with us as positive or very positive.
Our specialist Employability Team supports people in custody and in the community into training and employment. Our successful job fair model brings together service users and employers, offering a one-stop shop for people to access a range of employability workshops and one-to-one support, before meeting employers and trainers with opportunities. To date, over 700 people have attended our job fairs with 64% of attendees achieving a positive ETE outcome, including job offers, training courses and follow-up interviews.
We are currently trialling a series of group-work programmes in prison and community settings, drawing on our expertise in mental health and wellbeing. Focusing on emotional management, resilience, motivation and self-awareness, these interventions equip participants with the skills and confidence to overcome the barriers to successful resettlement. The programmes will be available for wider delivery from April 2020. For more information please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
