The CATE project is a pilot funded by Bedfordshire's Police and Crime Commissioner's Grant Fund. It is a specialist outreach service, working in partnership as part of the Conditional Caution Pathway.
Its purpose is to help bridge the gap in providing much-needed access to existing provisions to enable engagement for a complex and extremely hard to reach group of vulnerable women and ensure they remain engaged.
The service is aimed at women 18+ who:
- have a history of drug and/or alcohol misuse
- have a history of offending or who are at risk of offending
- are at risk more widely from exploitation, violence, control, and coercion
A Specialist, Women's Support Coordinator, receives referrals from You Turn Futures and other partners to offer additional trauma-informed wraparound support coordination and provide Penrose's expertise and specialist knowledge in supporting vulnerable women.
