The power of community was on full display as staff, volunteers, family members, and friends gathered at the SIG Cheer point to cheer on our four determined runners: Iain, Nadia, Abdul and Dan, raising funds for SIG Pathways to Independence and SIG Penrose Roots to Recovery.
From the first cheers to the final strides, the cheer point buzzed with encouragement, warmth, and shared purpose. Supporters of all ages waved banners, clapped, and called out words of motivation, helping to lift the runners through challenging moments and reminding them they were not taking on the journey alone.
Moments like these reflect the heart of our organisation, people coming together to support one another and to champion causes that change lives.
Mark Milton, SIG’s CEO said:
“Seeing so many people come together, staff, volunteers, and loved ones, to support our runners was incredibly moving. The energy at the cheer point captured everything we stand for: compassion, connection, and belief in people’s potential. Every cheer made a difference, and every step taken helps us continue our vital work.”
The funds raised will support SIG Pathways to Independence and SIG Penrose Roots to Recovery, helping people build stability, resilience, and hope for the future. Our runners showed remarkable commitment, and so did everyone who turned up to support them.
Thank you to everyone who stood alongside us. Your involvement helped turn a physical challenge into a powerful expression of community and care, and we can’t wait to do this all again next year!
Whether you’d like to fundraise, volunteer, or support one of our future events, there are many ways to get involved with SIG. Together, we can keep building communities rooted in care, connection and hope.
