Sold Out Poetry Night Supports Women to Share Their Stories

A resident from SIG Equinox Brighton Women’s Service took centre stage at a sold-out Poetry Night held at Daltons in Brighton.

The fundraising event brought together residents, colleagues, local poets and members of the community for an evening celebrating creativity, courage, and connection. One resident shared her own poetry with the audience, while another resident’s work was read on her behalf by Sanaya, one of our bank workers at the service, who organised the event.

The evening raised £450, which will help residents produce and publish their own poetry collection. The book will celebrate their creativity and voices, while providing a platform for women to share their experiences, perspectives, and achievements.

Creative opportunities such as this can play an important role in helping women develop confidence, express themselves, and build positive connections. The success of the event also reflected the generosity of the local community and its support for the work of Brighton Women’s Service, and in supporting women to share their stories.
