Introducing Our New Interim Group CEO: Cathy Kane

We are excited to announce the appointment of Cathy as our Interim Group CEO. Cathy brings a wealth of experience from the charity sector, having excelled in strategic, advisory, and finance roles at distinguished organisations such as Peabody Trust, Terence Higgins Trust, the Royal Courts of Justice Specialist Advice Bureau, and Thrive (Horticulture for People with Disabilities). Her tenure as the CEO of Just Advocacy showcases her commitment to providing professional advocacy for individuals with learning difficulties, autism, and complex needs.

Cathy’s impressive Health and Social Care background includes spearheading transformative digital transformation projects and designing clinical care models for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Groups and the Bristol & North Somerset Integrated Care Board. Most recently, she provided consultancy support to Primary Care Networks nationwide, working closely with Clinical Leads to ensure alignment with national and local priorities.

Since joining SIG as a trustee in August 2024, Cathy has shown remarkable engagement with our work and services, travelling the breadth of the country. She has actively participated in our Women’s Strategy Day and has visited key sites such as Aspinden Care Home, New Hope, and Penrose Drive Independent Approved Premises. Her proactive approach and determination to understand our organisation have been evident from day one.

In her new role, Cathy has dedicated her initial weeks to collaborating with former SIG CEO Gill Arukpe to ensure a seamless transition. We are confident that her leadership and expertise will advance our mission and enhance our ability to support those we serve.

Join us in welcoming Cathy to her new role. We look forward to the significant positive impact she will undoubtedly bring to our organisation.
