SIG Penrose is pleased to partner with Only A Pavement Away, to help the people we support through our Criminal Justice Services into employment in the hospitality sector. Our main focus is helping to reduce reoffending by giving people the skills and confidence to live happy, healthy lives.

Only A Pavement Away provides an effective conduit between forward thinking employers in the hospitality industry and charities working with people facing or experiencing homelessness, ex-offenders, and vulnerable veterans, to help place people into long term, stable employment.

Starting a new job can be daunting for a person who has been homeless or in prison and requires a significant amount of support to help with the adjustments to having a place to call home, as well as a new job. OAPA provides additional financial support in the form of a one-off stability grant of up to £1500 to those who need it to overcome any barriers to employment such as short-term support with rent, travel costs, uniforms, or initial living expenses.  We also provide and facilitate skills training and development programmes.

The charity has to date, placed a total of 78 members into employment adding c.£2.5 million to the economy. Over the next 3 years, OAPA aims to support a further 700 people into employment giving each the chance to forge a pathway to a brighter future.
