LGBT+ History Month

This is LGBT+ history month and the theme this year is, ‘Body, Mind, Spirit.’ The overall aim of LGBT+ History month is to promote equality and diversity and SIG is an inclusive workforce that appeals to diverse applicants and removes bias and limits at all levels of the Group.

We acknowledge our staff and Service Users who are part of the LGBT+ community, approximately 8% of whom have disclosed that they are not heterosexual . To those staff and Service Users we’d like to say, we recognise you and appreciate your contributions to the SIG.

Our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion lead Norman Alcide said: “ LBGT+ History Month’s recognition of 2003’s successful turnaround of the Draconian Local Government Act S.28 is an inspirational example of what positive, focused & committed collective action can deliver. Let us uphold this example of best practice and run with it. In Solidarity.”
