Social Interest Group wins Sayer Vincent Financial Leadership Award for innovation

We are delighted to announce that the Social Interest Group has won the 2015 Sayer Vincent Financial Leadership Award for innovation.

Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Martin Dalby, has been instrumental in developing the Social Interest Group, including its focus and structure.

Martin said: “This Financial Leadership Award is fantastic recognition of all that has been achieved with developing and setting up the Social Interest Group over the last 4½ years. The Social Interest Group has demonstrated we do listen carefully to our commissioners and we respond innovatively. By forming the Social Interest Group, we have reduced our costs, increased our efficiency and improved service delivery across the group, so in these respects we have become a very attractive group to likeminded charities and social enterprises.”

Kate Sayer, Partner, Sayer Vincent, said: “The judges were impressed with Martin’s vision, hard work and determination to create a new charitable group and new ways to enable them to work together. The awards are designed to recognise individuals who have gone the extra mile for their charity and Martin certainly did this. Martin has helped to expand the reach of the charity and double its turnover. He has set up the group structure, found charities to join the group and created a team to provide all the back office services to a number of charities in the group. Martin has made sure that the charity group is the oasis of calm, structured management.”

Group Chief Executive of the Social Interest Group, Gill Arukpe, said: ‘This is fantastic recognition of the work Martin has put into forming the Social Interest Group. We have formed the Group to support charitable organisations so they can benefit from one another, and this award shows how we are in a great place to support the sector. Martin has been exemplary in his approach and I for one am proud of what he has achieved.’
